Shoulda mastered the full Auto-Focus Mode for my Nikon D3200 DSLR. Didn’t know I could get such good results. These were captured with a heavy ass telephoto lens, hand-held, and the stupid robins were moving all over the place! You gotta set those damn camera settings right and be ready to shoot. Shot from inside my dimly lit living room through the grimy glass backdoor. Impressive results!
(BTW, I realize the cooked little bird might be misconstrued as one of the robins, but it ain’t. It’s just a baked hen, I happen to be cooking and eating around the same time the critters come out to eat in my backyard today)
It’s that time again, folks! Practice time using my trusty old Nikon D3200 DSLR. Watering Mom’s plants this morning and I witnessed the hibiscus flower had bloomed. Had to give it a go. Check these out!
Here are some of my best sketches I’ve already posted before, some here, some on Instagram. I think they’re pretty fun and silly, but mostly demonstrates my technical drawing skillz.
Testing it out. Not a fan of it. It works, but only because I’m previewing it in Chrome. However, it’s slow to load maybe because it’s doing some additional Javascripting to make it work. So unless there is native support, I wouldn’t recommend using WEBP images just yet.
UPDATE June 20, 2022 – It seems there’s some mixed messages about pokeberries, might be some kind of fearmongering. People do eat these and make pies out of them, although they say it’s not sweet at all, and that bad taste might be where the fear of death and poison comes from. So do your own research.
Here are some random pics I took today straight out the Nikon D3200 DSLR. Them berries look too pretty. Warning though, these delicious-looking berries are actually incredibly toxic to humans and other animals like dogs and cows! Song birds can eat them though. They’re called pokeberries. So DO NOT EAT THEM! Also the sap is toxic too, so don’t let the sap touch your skin, since it can absorb in. DO NOT TOUCH IT! Should probably get rid of this thing before it gets too big. Apparently it gets more deadly as it matures. (more…)
This gigantic majestic common crane family, two parents and two red babies, were wandering around my backyard! Modern day dinosaurs. Dopey, but cool. Enjoy this HD video and some well-cropped pics I shot with a Nikon D3200 DSLR… hand-held.
A small gang of 4 wild turkeys showed up in my backyard. I was only fast enough to photograph one of them. But they’re nesting really close by, they squawkin’ every night. (more…)
I’m super late posting this, as the news happened THREE YEARS AGO and the media didn’t spread the word. Anyway, as of 2017, the MP3 audio format is now patent-free. It doesn’t mean that you can now pirate all the commercial songs you want. What it actually means is now that the audio format is patent-free, you can implement an MP3 encoder/decoder into your game engine! That’s sweet! (more…)
