How We Came To Be

OMG. I just realized how we came into existence. Watch that Sony gimmicky 4K ice bubble video and then you’ll realize how, if you have any inclination about physics and nature and chaos. In science, the laws of the universe are, well, UNIVERSAL. Therefore, whatever phenomenon you witness on Earth MUST be the same as it is on Mars, in the Milky Way, in a black hole, in the sun, etc. It should all be the same.

So watching that bubble freeze in high-speed video (I don’t know if it’s computer-generated or not, it might as well be, but that would defeat the purpose of Sony selling their cameras too not just their TVs). Anyway, the bubble froze into what resembled our Earth. Ain’t that a trip?

So we came to be because the Earth was some random bubble in space and froze. But it doesn’t pop like these bubbles because it’s so big and in it contained dirt and bacteria and other randomly evolving cosmos space dust. And then our ancient ancestors climbed out that boiling water ooze soon after.

Whoa!!!

True 4K resolution Blu-rays are coming

http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=14923

My god, why? I’m just getting used to standard HD (720p or 1080p). Now they want to sell us 3840 × 2160p x 60fps. Sure, things will look more lifelike, but I can’t imagine anyone having the time to appreciate it. People work, people are busy, they really don’t give a rat’s ass about ALL THAT RESOLUTION. Who really needs that kind of resolution besides feds and surveillance junkies? Even porn failed to sell this new tech, and they even tried 3D HD!

Well, we’ll see. It’s becoming more like, who cares? Try telling a decent story for a change rather than just peddling a better looking picture.

Digitizing old media, i.e. cassette tapes

I was digging through old junk in the basement out of boredom (but mainly because the weather up here in the tundra has become a miserable, humid circus) and found my old portable cassette tape player. Cassette tape? Remember those? If you have the insight, it’s similar to (more…)
