Empty Bowl of Pho

Empty bowl of pho
Filled me warm inside
With essential ingredients
Rice, spice, beef, and scallions
Enough to keep me alive

Oh, it’s not too hard to make
It’s quite simple actually
The broth is boiled water and beef bones
Rice noodles and the rest is up to you
Don’t you have clue?

That is why
The bowl is empty
I’m going for seconds
How about you?

Living up to Stereotypes: Midwestern Deer Hunting Culture

Undoubtedly, one of Wisconsin’s most beloved sports is deer hunting (or outdoor gaming, in general). It would be unavoidable for me as my parents are passionate about the game, having come from similar history back in Laos. Watching from the ignorant first-generation Asian-American’s point of view, it’s kind of poignant that this culture will be lost.
